“The Obama administration, picking up on the policy of the (George W.) Bush administration, has decided to use Iran’s purported nuclear program as a pretext or as an excuse to escalate pressure on the government in Iran, and replace it with a proxy or client regime,” anti-war advocate Brian Becker of the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition told The Final Call.
Tehran’s rocky international relations worsened amid tighter economic sanctions targeting the Iranian central bank; the shooting down of a U.S. spy drone by the Iranian military that placed America in a shaky political position and the well coordinated murder of Dr. Majid Shahriari—a high ranking nuclear scientist—that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused “Zionist” and “Western regimes” as being behind. Dr. Shahriari led the team of scientists responsible for developing the technology to design a nuclear reactor core, according to STRATFOR Global Intelligence.
Zionists push for war
However Iran’s historic adversaries, America and Britain have caved in to Zionist pressure for targeted sanctions on the Central Bank of Iran. Experts say the move will foment more domestic opposition within Iran with the aim of regime change, and bring America within arms reach of another war.
“I can’t tell Black people to fight a war that is Israel’s war,” said the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan during a Nation of Islam national convention in February 2011.
“What kind of leader will you be, or should I be, to allow these babies—Black, White and Brown—to fight Israel’s war because Zionists dominate the government of the United States of America, and her banking system?”
For decades Minister Farrakhan, in line with his teacher, the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, has warned proponents of imperialism against doing the bidding of the leaders of Zionism. Mr. Muhammad wrote about the consequences of the relationship in his vital book, “The Fall of America.”
“America and England deposited their little brother, Israel, on foreign soil, Palestine which is Arab land. They deprived the Arabs of their own land and sent them into exile. This injustice against the Arabs is now costing America the power and authority that she once exercised in the East. This means bloodshed and plenty of it.”
“At every step U.S. power is clearly waning in the region,” said Ms. Flounders.
A November 2011 memo issued by AIPAC revealed that because of their lobbying muscle, 92 senators officially wrote President Obama urging him to go after the Central Bank of Iran. The group accused the bank of financing world terrorism and underwriting Tehran’s Nuclear Program. The document also said, in response, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner assured, “All options to increase the financial pressure on Iran are on the table, including the possibility of imposing additional sanctions against the CBI.”
On Dec. 1, Mr. Geithner wrote the senators advising Iran’s greatest economic resource is its oil exports. “Sales of crude oil line the regime’s pockets; sustain its human rights abuses and feed its nuclear ambitions like no other sector of the Iranian economy.”
“It’s a real risk and threat now against Iran which is the only country in the region that has been able to sustain itself, independent from U.S. complete domination,” added Ms. Flounders.
Furthermore the Zionist lobby warned President Obama that “time is running out” to prevent Iran from obtaining sufficient quantities of higher enriched uranium needed to produce a nuclear weapon. “Together with like-minded nations, the United States must act quickly and with the full force of our remaining economic tools to prevent such a nightmare scenario,” the memo read.
But on the contrary, Mr. Becker opined that neither Presidents Obama nor Bush before him believed Iran posed a nuisance to its neighbors or the U.S. which has thousands of nuclear weapons. Likewise, Israel who critics say has done the most “saber rattling” against Iran is the only nation in the Middle East to possess actual nuclear weapons. However unlike Iran, Israel is not a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, a legally binding agreement between nations committed to cooperate on destroying existing nuclear arsenal and stopping the spread of new ones.
Iran: latest Imperialist target
But other observers note that Iran—America’s long time foe is only the latest target of an imperialistic scheme to filch raw material wealth and natural resources like oil.
“Iran is next on that agenda, though the agenda is changing,” said former U.S. Attorney General and anti-war advocate Ramsey Clark in a telephone interview with The Final Call. “It’s clear we intend to undermine and if necessary attack Iran; the threats have been pretty consistent, pretty clear.”
But there are unanswered questions concerning the wider implications of the hostilities. Iran suffered years of political isolation from the international community that restricted trade and commerce particularly in the petroleum industry. A void that China filled with major business engagement like selling Iran gasoline product and in return collecting highly needed crude oil. Experts wonder what Beijing’s response would be to a military attack on Iran.
“Oil may grease the wheels, but the Chinese-Iranian relationship transcends energy. Robust activity in the arms trade, mining, transportation, power generation, and consumer goods markets—including those for electronics, auto parts, toys, and even Islamic headscarves—has helped make China one of Iran’s leading trading partners, second only to the re-export hub of Dubai, said a Foreign Affairs article.
Mr. Clark described Iran as the last vestige in America’s war on Islam that was touted for years as a War on Terror. He predicts that once Iran is “wrapped up,” the “old struggle” against predominately Muslim countries will be replaced by a “new struggle” with China for global domination.
For Bill Fletcher Jr., a senior scholar with the Institute for Policy Studies, the deteriorated relations resembles past strategies for conflict in Iraq, replete with accusations of having weapons of mass destruction, deceptive intelligence, and bogeyman propaganda.
“The Iranians, in looking at what happened to Iraq, could quite understandably say, well we need nuclear weapons too. Because look what happened; they claimed Iraq had nuclear weapons, they didn’t … and the U.S. was able to go in and destroy everything,” argued Mr. Fletcher.
Fear mongering and using the brutal breaking of Libya as a backdrop, the imminent danger toward Iran serves as an “implied threat to all the people in the region, that this is what we can do to you,” unless you acquiesce to the global “pirates and muggers,” said Ms. Flounders.
History of destabilization campaigns
Western aggression toward Iran has a long history going back nearly 60 years when they ousted one government to prop up a proxy regime they can control.
“This is almost the identical playbook that the British and the U.S. intelligence used in 1953 when they overthrew the democratically elected government of Mohammad Mosaddegh,” reflected Mr. Becker.
Mr. Mosaddegh angered the imperialists after he nationalized the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company which later became the notorious British Petroleum (BP) company, interfering with the fortunes of British investors, bankers and oil tycoons. At that time the Western media used demonizing language against Mr. Mosaddegh as they are now doing against President Ahmadinjad with the idea of fostering popular dissent within Iran.
They set up Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi (the shah of Iran) as a puppet authoritarian ruler who America kept in power for 26 years until the Iranian revolution in 1979. Although America severed diplomatic relations since that time, it always conspired to undermine Iran, only now with a Zionist cheerleading squad.
“All of us who believe in peace, who believe in justice, who believe in self-determination have to stand against the U.S. and British and European Union efforts to demonize and sanction Iran as a precursor for regime change,” said Mr. Becker.
