Israel’s latest genocidal assault against Palestinians is nothing new
Iran’s Foreign Ministry says the Israeli regime must be punished as a “war criminal” for its airstrikes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement on Monday (July 14), the Iranian Foreign Ministry said the Israeli regime’s use of the most lethal weapons against the defenseless Palestinians in Gaza amounts to “war crimes and crimes against humanity.”
As the president of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), Iran has implemented urgent moves to stop the continuation of Israel’s crimes and called for constructive regional and international measures to punish the regime as a war criminal, it read.
The statement said Israel continues with its savage attacks on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank while major international bodies refuse to take any action to stop Tel Aviv.
The ministry emphasized that countries and bodies, which support the Palestinians, must go beyond just condemning Tel Aviv’s criminal acts and must collectively take immediate action against the Israeli regime.
They must bring Israeli criminals to justice and international courts for violating human rights laws, it added.
The ministry hailed the Palestinians’ resistance against the Israeli regime and said Tel Aviv will face another defeat as in past conflicts and fail to achieve its ominous objectives. On July 8, Israel also began an aerial bombing campaign on the Gaza Strip, which has killed 175 Palestinians and injured 1,270 others so far. In retaliation, the Palestinian resistance movement has been firing rockets into Israel.
Gaza has been blockaded since June 2007. The blockade has caused a decline in the standards of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty. (PressTV)
