Birdsong, a Northwestern University basketball coach, by a white supremacist
in Illinois, two teen-agers have been charged with the random shooting death
of a Black teen here.

informant the government was to use against Mr. Barry was leaked to the
media, recently unsealed court documents reveal.
Ex-Gang members build a place of
peace for community
ST. LOUIS�Those seeking escape from the turmoil of inner city life now
have a place of refuge. In early November, just a hundred yards away from an
intersection known for shoot-outs and late night parties, 600 Black leaders
and politicians gathered to witness the grand opening of Masjid Al-Tauheed,
a house of prayer built by the hands of former gang members.

As you know, in a few days the entire Muslim world will observe the
fast of the Holy Month of Ramadan. This is the month in which the process
of the revelation of the Holy Qur'an was begun. This is a month that all
Muslims are commanded by Allah to fast. Those who are sick or on a journey
are given permission in the Qur'an to fast a like number of days, but, no
Muslim is exempt from the fast of Ramadan.
