Beloved
Minister recuperates, expects to be 100 percent early next year
WASHINGTONTo the relief of his family,
friends, supporters and admirers throughout the world, the Honorable
Minister Louis Farrakhan was in stable condition at Howard University
Hospital Nov. 2 after undergoing more than eight hours of colorectal surgery
to correct complications resulting from radiation therapy for prostate
cancer. It was a difficult operation because of the type of scarring
thats there, said Dr. Debra H. Ford, chief of surgery at the hospital,
explaining the Minister underwent a very complex and prolonged

Hip hop artists say it's time to
take control of billion dollar music industry
NEW YORKNo doubt, hip hop is
everywhere music, fashion, language, culture and even in
hairstyles. The other reality is while hip hop, or rap music, and
its offshoots have become a billion dollar industry worldwide,
many of those sculpting the culture of modern youth complain of
feeling like slaves on the plantation.
Trinidad &
Tobago in uproar over AIDS vaccine trial
PORT OF SPAIN (IPS)It was
supposed to be their moment of glory. After years of campaigning,
the Trinidad and Tobago government finally gave the green light
for local researchers to be part of an international campaign
against the deadly HIV virus that causes AIDS. But instead,
the researchers and their supporters have been taking to the
radio, television and other medium in a bid to assure the public
that the HIV vaccine trials are safe and that participants will
not end up contracting the deadly disease.

Farrakhan
on B.E.T.
The poor are the foundation upon which
the rich have built their world. Not only did it bring death to Martin
Luther King but it brought the crucifixion to Jesus Christ. But if you
are a revolutionary and if you seek to walk in the path or in the
footsteps of Jesus or of Moses or of Muhammad, all of them spoke
effectively to the poor. And that is what caused the powerful rulers
in the Roman Empire to see Jesus as a threat and want to remove him.
And this is what caused the powerful in this government to see Martin
Luther King as a threat and desire to remove him or Malcolm X or
Elijah Muhammad, because they spoke to the poor. Farrakhan is walking
in those footsteps, but I think I shall escape that destiny.
