Whether it's ground troops, anthrax at the
Post Office or the shrinking economy, Black America bears brunt of the war on terrorism
WASHINGTON�Black America is on the front line of the war on terrorism, whether it wants to be or not.  The U.S. Post Office, a major employer of Blacks, is the main target of an anthrax attack that has gripped the American public by the throat. Two Black postal employees are dead as a result. There have been four anthrax-related deaths to date. Also, activists increasingly are concerned about Blacks in the military as the call for sending ground troops into Afghanistan to capture accused terrorist Osama bin Laden grows louder.

Bush meets Nigerian president,
but questions about Africa snub remain
THE WHITE HOUSE�Despite the widely held perception that President George W. Bush has turned a cold shoulder to African leaders, Nigeria�s President Olusegun Obasanjo pledged that Africa�s most populous nation will support the U.S. anti-terror fight. �We are part of that coalition, and we will remain steadfastly part of that coalition,� Mr. Obasanjo told reporters in the Rose Garden Nov. 2, following his meeting with Mr. Bush�the first for an African head of state since Sept. 11.

Repairing the breach, uniting people of God
VILLA PARK, Ill.�The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan was among special guests at an Oct. 29 interfaith �Evening of Religious Solidarity� co-hosted by Imam W.D. Mohammed and the Rev. Dr. Robert H. Schuller.  Paying tribute to the co-hosts, Min. Farrakhan described Rev. Schuller, founder of the Crystal Cathedral Church, as a �mighty spiritual giant� whose �Hour of Power� television ministry he has watched for approximately 30 years.
