The November 13, 2000 edition of Newsweek magazine had a cover story by Ellis Cose called, �American�s Prison Generation.� He states that 14 million Americans, mainly Black and Hispanic will spend a part of their lives behind prison walls. The question we must ask is: Why is America putting more and more young Blacks and Hispanics in jail? Just as they talk about the X-Generation, Drug Culture and Baby Boomer, we now have a Prison Generation.
