Zero Tolerance
12/1/1999

When Zero Tolerance against violence in schools means it is consistent with the members of the same policy in religious, home and community settings, then I say yes. When it means discipline; that is to train or develop by instruction rather than just bringing under control, then I say yes.

Emphatically no! It is because of the sin sick society that our children
act out in violent rage. We are responsible for their rehabilitation and
not incarceration. That's not to say that their crimes should not be
punished, but it's our duty to teach them to learn how to love instead of
hate. They are simply a reflection of the seed that we have produced, and this is what happens with no knowledge of ones own self and nationality.

Kids tries as Adults

It may act as a deterrent to other kids if they see that the Criminal
Justice System will treat them as adults.

There are consequences to their actions however bad it may seem to punish a child as an adult.

Children tried as a adult

I don't think our troubled youth should be tried as adults. I know some are misguided by bad people who use this to have them do wrong like sell drugs and say they will not be tried as adults if caught. I just want to say this if our young are tried as adult then our existence as a people is threatened and the male will surely plunge as never before, We have to fight for our youth and teach home values and keep outsiders out of our family life and bring "ALLAH" into theirs. Our lifestyle has become a war zone for what looks good versus time with our little ones and no one to turn to if they have troubles. We would rather buy the Jordan sneakers and all fashions when our children need the nurturing (I LOVE YOU) and hugging and the time spent with them.

Children should not be tried as adults because I believe that it is a
case of the criminal blaming the victim for the crime. The United
States of America massively drapes negativity in the face of our youth
daily in the form of violence, sex and murder. It is atrocious how they
hold children responsible for knowing what they do know but fail to
carry into practice to protect our youth.

Punishing Children
12/4/1999

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmat Allah wa Barakatoh,

I think that children are supposed to be punished like adults if they commit a crime, because its the only way that its going to scare a child and make him stop doing all the crimes. Ad's in the TV can help, but the Parents are supposed to raise a child in the best way possible. In my opinion Islam is the best solution for these problems.
