Should Elian Gonzalez be
returned to his father in Cuba?

Cuban child case shows hypocrisy of U.S. policy, critics charge
-(FCN 12-21-99)

Yes I strongly believe that Elian Gonzales should be returned back to his original home. It seems as if the United States only considers their well-being instead of Elian. Being taken from your parents can be a very traumatic experience for anyone, but to have been transported to a country that is foreign were everyone is a stranger and you are not familiar with anyone can cause mental anguish and grief. If the United States could just experience some of the tragedies that happen to people on a day to day basis. They might have more compassion in there hearts to make just and right decisions, when it comes to the welfare of children.

If we were to look at this particular case in isolation, it would seem that the American authorities were concerned about the welfare of Elian Gonzalez. Upon closer inspection we see the continuing propaganda war waged by the champions of hegemony and imperialism - America - against a country that refuses to be cowered.

America has for the past three decades imposed a virtual strangulation of the Cuban economy, denying the citizens of that country basic necessities. There are thousands of 'Elian Gonzalez's' in Cuba whom the wider American public care nothing about. The rank hypocrisy of American politics knows no bounds.

It is great to see the Honourable Minister Louis Farrakhan looking so well again. We in Brixton, London wish him health. Thanks also to the heavyweight Final Call staff for keeping us informed on this side of the Atlantic.
