The
Holy Quran declares that Allah is Supremely Wise and He knows what
is best for every living thingincluding every single one of us. He
knows best how we can obtain that which is best for us in every part
of our lives.
Yesterday, on the ninth of September, I was among
those truly blessed to witness an example of the absolutely exquisite
beauty, power and majesty of the matchless wisdom of Allah, which came
through the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhanall day long!
You could not tell the effects on him of the
grueling, demanding, even punishing schedule he has kept, over the
past several months, especially since April. The kind of schedule he
keeps would be very hard for totally healthy men to keep. But, he
keeps it up, although, as he has publicly stated, he is not yet
totally well.
A little over a week ago, Minister Farrakhan
returned from a trip to Africa, where he was involved in conferences
with heads of state, who are establishing the United States of Africa.
From there he went directly to Chicago, to attend the Islamic
conference led by Imam Warith D. Mohammed. Then early the next morning
he flew off to New York City, where he was invited to a conference of
Islamic leaders, at the United Nations building, where the
president of Iran spoke.
After a grueling schedule of speeches, conferences
and appearances in New York City, and with just ninety minutes of
sleep, Minister Farrakhan (and those with him) caught a 6 a.m. flight
from New York to Chicago. Immediately after his arrival at his home,
he dove into aspects of the Nations business, and then headed to
Mosque Maryam to make one of the four speeches he delivered yesterday.
The quality of the love of God, in Minister
Farrakhan, his love for his teacher, his people and humanity at large,
is simply extraordinary. It is this love which is the driving
force of Minister Farrakhans life and of his highly effective
non-stop work. His life is a God-filled-God-centered and God-committed
life; which he willingly sacrifices for the highest principles, which
undergirds the greatest cause: the universal reign of the will of
Allah.
Minister Farrakhan made a deep impression on me, as
I watched and listened to him masterfully speak yesterday. He gave
four different speechesone right after anotherthat conveyed four
aspects of one spiritthe spirit of Allah. Each speech was delivered
without notes. Each speech was different, in terms of purpose, content
and effect. Each speech provided penetrating wisdom-packed insights
that contained solutions to many different kinds of problems.
In one of his speeches, Minister Farrakhan said
that which reminded me that it was around this time, twenty-three
years ago, that he arose at a dark hour, to lift the name and build on
the foundation left by his teacher, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. He
did what he did despite death threats and plans against his life,
which have never stopped. I did not mentally dwell on the events of
those years, however, as I did not want to miss one word which came
from his mouth. I would later say to a Brother that if we have eyes
with which to see, it is clear that each day as he goes about his
work, Minister Farrakhan is continually being infused by an unseen
power, which is clearly supreme over all opposition and over all of
the evil forces of this world.
The scriptures teach that at the end of this world,
there would be a small group of people, who would be in the worst
state of condition of any people since time began. The scriptures
describe these people as blind, deaf, dumb, lost and, in fact, dead
even to the core of the non-physical aspects of their being; the worst
sort of deadness. The depth of their ignorance would be unrivaled in
the history of life in space.
The scriptures also call this people "robbed
and spoiled," and a "people who" would "walk in
darkness." Nevertheless, the prophecy continued, "upon them
the light would shine." This people would be so reduced, in terms
of their overall humanity, that the scriptures referred to them as
"no people." Nevertheless, they would be the people of Gods
choice, to be used as the foundation stones, for Him to build an
eternal world of peace, freedom, justice and equality.
Its written that in the last days of Satans
power, God would infuse the people of the earth with His spirit. For
instance, in the book of Joel, it was written that Almighty God
Himself would "pour out my spirit upon all men ."
God would do this in the last days of this evil
world. Why not before the last days of this world? First, if He did so
before the end of this worlds time, He would have broken His word.
He cannot break His word. He would destroy Himself if He could. That
He cannot do. Next, it would be contrary to the stepbystep
planning, which He formed in Himselfaccording to His own nature and
willfor the creation of His brand new world, which He promised
through the mouth of His prophets.
Now, the word "infuse," is from words in
other languages, which ultimately came from the Latin word,
"infuses," which is the past participle of "infundere"
which meant, "to pour in."
In current use, this word means: "to put into
or introduce as if by pouring: to fill or cause to be filled with
something: to pour (a liquid) in, into, or upon; to put (a quality,
idea, etc.) into, as if by pouring; instill; impart; to fill (with
a quality, feeling, etc.); imbue; to introduce one thing into another
so as to change or affect it," for example, "a teacher who
infused her pupils with the desire to learn."
Again, it also means "to cause to be permeated
with something (as a principle or quality) that alters usually for the
better," for example, "to infuse the team with
confidence," "to introduce or to insinuate," for
example, "a new spirit was infused into such and such a persons
art," to inspire or to animate, "the sense of purpose that
infuses scientific research."
So, what is it to be "infused" by God
with His spirit? What does a person so "infused" look like?
Do as the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said: Look at Minister Farrakhan.
Study the plan of God in the scriptures and study Minister Farrakhans
motion. If you do, with the right spirit, you will be convinced of his
absolute trustworthiness. If we do this, well also see the
fundamental principles of the wisdom of God on which Minister
Farrakhan was constructed.
Gods wisdom, and the manner in which He executes
it, is so very beautiful, so superb, and so exquisite, that it is
matchless and oft-times, breathtaking. However, His execution of His
limitless wisdom, as displayed throughout the entire range of the
universe, as stunning and awe-inspiring as it is, is yet inferior to
His wisdom contained in His guidance of human life; especially that
which is presently in operation right here in America.
At present, we who follow Minister Farrakhan are,
with him, in a life and death struggle to overcome that which is other
than divine: from without and from within. So, for this and other
reasons, we pray. And we pray. And we pray. And we dont seem to get
the answers we are looking for.
Meanwhile, Allah knows if He grants certain of our
petitions before we have risen above certain levels of impurity, in
our hearts, that what He grants us would then become contaminated by
the corruption that we have not yet rid from ourselves. Then, with His
added wisdom and power, we would do damage to others and ourselves. So
He wisely withholds it.
Are there other factors involved? Of course there
are. Allah sees, with unerring accuracy, the totality of our
circumstancesincluding that of which we are unawarein the timing
of His granting to us of His blessings.
So, the very effort involved in our sincere crying
out to him, in true prayer, for an increase of light, life and powerwhich
the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said his teachings are composed ofhas
the effect of purifying our hearts; which contain our motivations.
Furthermore, this process expands our capacity to hold to and make the
best use of the increased blessings that Allah is eager to grant us.
Now, the act of crying out to Him, in true prayer,
has to be followed by some intelligent reasoning and calm reflection
before we can fully act in ways that generate the conditions, within
ourselves, to receive His blessings. In other words, we must be
involved in the process to receive His unequal blessings.
But can we be truly involved in this processwhich
leads to true successif we are impatient? And the word
"patience" here is a weak word to fully describe that
quality which Allah requires of each of us. Study footnote #61 in the
Yusuf Ali translation of the Holy Quran. Without this quality,
transliterated "sabr," we cannot receive the best of what
Allah wants to grant us and wont see the best of the hereafter.
Think over it. God actually involves us in the
process of producing the new conditions and new circumstances in which
He will bless us. Of course, we must have confidence that He heard us.
If we do, then we will automatically trust that things are in the
process of getting better, even if we dont fully see, or dont
see at all, His movements in our behalf.
This all has a direct bearing on The Million Family
March and that which is to come afterwards.
More next issue, Allah willing. |
