A ten month absence
The 10th Chapter of the Holy Qur�an is entitled, Jonah and contains 109 verses in its entirety. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, until recently, has remained isolated from the public�s view, except for an occasional word given to his Laborers, or Family Members or to the Believers.

During his Saviour�s Day Address in February of 1999, under severe physical stress and illness, he disclosed the nature of his illness and the desire of the opponents to witness his demise.

A modern Jonah
In his October, 1998, Day of Atonement Address delivered in Washington, D.C, he fully manifested his pivotal role as a modern day Jonah, warning the wealthy and the Political and Spiritual Leaders of this country, in particular, that the Eight steps of Atonement, first delivered on the occasion of the Million Man March atop the steps of the Capitol Building, was being issued as the way out for America�s sin-sick nation, as it was in the time of the wicked people of Ninevah.

Letter to the Believers
Recently, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan issued a Letter to the Believers, prior to the New Year�s Celebration, with specific instructions on how to pass over into the New Millennium. Thus, the connection between the 10th Chapter of Jonah and the instructions given to the Believers under Moses and his brother, Aaron are all but too apparent, that a fool could not miss this profound connection and application from Divine Scripture to our condition in America today.

The Treasures of King Tut
In my recent 10 day visit to Egypt, while touring the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities� second floor exhibit of the awesome display of King Tutahkmun�s dazzling display of golden objects and sarcophagus, discovered in the Valley of the Kings by the English Explorer and Archeologist Howard Carter in 1922, I reflected upon the controversy over the identity of the Pharaoh of the Exodus? It is generally believed to be the Pharaoh Ramses II or his son, Menephta. However, recent research, has pushed the date of the Exodus back from the time of those two Pharaohs to one of the Pharaohs of the 18th Dynasty. In a later article, I wish to share some of my studies on this subject.

On the second floor, there is, in addition to the Exhibit of King Tut�s Treasures and other features of the renown 18th Dynasty of Egypt, a room which houses 5 mummies, one of which is that of Ramses the Second of the 19th Dynasty, who may be the celebrated Pharaoh of the Exodus in answer to verse 92 of the 10th Surah which reads: "But this day We shall save thee in thy body that thou mayest be a sign to those after thee. And surely most of the people are heedless of Our signs."

The Hon. Elijah Muhammad�s visit to Egypt
The Honorable Elijah Muhammad also spoke about his visit to the Cairo Museum during his ten days in Egypt, in 1959. He made a reference to a Mummy which remains as a sign of the Pharaoh of the Exodus which points to an analogy for us to study today in the affairs of this nation, and the relationship of its former slaves to current government rulers. All of these verses are combined in the 10th Surah of Jonah which points to the work of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan�as a Helpmeet of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad who has been entrusted with the Mission of carrying us safely across the River to the other side of our Exodus out from America�s mentality and culture of violence into the Safe Refuge of Almighty God, Allah.

The significance of the last 10 nights of Ramadan
What is the significance of the Last Ten Nights of Ramadan which incorporates The Night of Power, being observed throughout the Islamic World falling on the Friday Observance of Jum�uah, which also coincides with the last day of this twentieth century, according to the Gregorian Calendar? It is not a coincidence that the 10th Surah, entitled, Jonah, with its corresponding verses being discussed, do, indeed, bear a relationship to the Divine Work and Mission of Min. Farrakhan as a Helpmeet to the Honorable Elijah Muhammad in proclaiming the Reality of God.

The Month of December 1999
Why are we given these last 10 nights of the Ramadan Fast, inclusive of the Night of Majesty or Power, to observe coming on the eve of the New Millennium? And why is this most Holy Observance taking place in the Gregorian Calendar month of December? Might there be a connective link between this occurrence and why the Honorable Elijah Muhammad assigned themonth of December as a Month of Fasting to the Lost-Found Members of the Nation of Islam, during our long sojourn in the West? The last 10 nights of Ramadan may represent 10 centuries of a 1,000 year setback to the spread of Islam throughout the world which was predicted in the Revelation of the Holy Qur�an to the Prophet Muhammad, May Allah�s Peace and Blessings be upon him. The present 21st Century is thus predicted to be the Century of Islam, meaning Peace!

Al-Azhar University�A Sign of a 1,000th Millennium
The Honorable Elijah Muhammad departed from us exactly 1,000 years from the date that Al-Azhar Mosque was founded under the Fatimid Dynasty in Cairo, Egypt, in 975 A.D. This makes Al-Azhar Mosque and University a sign to be studied by us in the West. This over 1,000 year old Institute of Learning remains today the Beacon of Light of Islamic Theological Studies in the World of Islam today. We were informed by Dr. Ahmed Afifi, Head of the French and Foreign Language Department at Al-Azhar University that it took eight years from 1975 to 1983 to celebrate its Millennium because of the intense preparation that was required to prepare the huge conference and gathering of scholars from around the Islamic world to congregate at this most Illustrious Institution.

Twenty years of re-education
The Honorable Elijah Muhammad stated that Al-Azhar University was a sign for us to study in preparation for our nation�s re-education and training that would take place for a period of 20 years under our own teachers and scientists who would be skilled in language arts and in mechanical and technical skills that would be required in building a New World Civilization, on a parallel to the engineering feats accomplished by our ancient foreparents who built the Great Monuments of the Pyramids and Temples in Egypt.

Under the sign of Jesus and his Mother and his advanced studies at Peach Pyramid, nearly 2,000 years ago, added to the history of the Nile Valley Temple sites, from Nubia, to Ancient Cush and the Sudan pre-dating Pharoanic, times, I traveled to Egypt, retracing my footsteps, as a Student of the Divine Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, rehearsing the Sign of Egypt within the scope of our Nation�s Destiny in America as we make our Exodus out of America in perilous times fleeing into the arms of the Muslim World.

Overview of 7,000th, 2,000th and 1,000th Millennia
From 7,000 to 2,000 to 1,000 years of Millennium Celebrations, Allah blessed me to enter Egypt and return safely back Home to continue to be a bearer of witness to the Majesty and Power of Almighty God, Allah, our only Place of Refuge, Healing and Eternal Life.

"He orders the Affair from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a day the measure of which is a thousand years as you count." Holy Qur�an, Surah 32, verse 5
