'Hast thou not thought of him who
disputed with Abraham about his Lord, because Allah had given him
kingdom? When Abraham said, My Lord is He who gives life and causes to
die, he said: I give life and cause death. Abraham said: Surely Allah
causes the sun to rise from the East, so do thou make it rise from the
West. Thus he who disbelieved was confounded. And Allah guides not the
unjust people."
Surah 2, Verse 258
In
this Section of the Holy
Quran, Allah begins to Re-
veal Himself in parables relating to the Seen and the Unseen. In this
parable, the argument placed before the disbeliever is that Allah
causes the physical Sun to rise from the East; and if it were to rise
from the West, it could only be by Allahs Power and Might. In
reality, this parable is referring to the rise of Islam in the West
and the Resurrection of the mentally dead and the spiritually blinded
people.
In yet another parable we read in verse 259, "Or
like him who passed by a town, and it had fallen in upon its roofs. He
said: When will Allah give it life after its death? So Allah caused
him to die for a hundred years, then raised him. He said: How long
hast thou tarried? He said: I have tarried a day, or part of a day. He
said: Nay, thou has tarried a hundred years; but look at thy food and
drinkyears have not passed over it! And look at thy ass! And that
We may make thee a sign to men. And look at the bones, how We set them
together then clothe them with flesh. So when it became clear to him,
he said: I know that Allah is Possessor of power over all
things." Surah 2, verse 259.
In the above parable, we see a similarity to the
story of Sleeping Beauty. Every one hundred years, according to the
exegesis of the Holy Quran, it is believed to have come down from
the time of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) that a
Reformer would be raised to revive the spirit of Gods True Religion
among the People. The Spiritual Wisdom contained in the story of
Sleeping Beauty reveals that with the wave of a magic wand that the
whole kingdom was put to sleep. The intervention of the Fairy
Godmother was to protect the Kingdom while the evil ones reigned. In
the Sleeping Beauty Ballet as performed by the Universal Ballet
Company of Korea in Chicagos Civic Opera House during the
last week of April, the Fairy Godmother is portrayed as the Lilac
Fairy. Once the prince awakens the princess, the entire kingdom is
revived. A flurry of activity begins in preparation for a sumptuous
wedding Ceremony in which many guests are to be in attendance. The
Universal Ballet Company, with its home theater in Korea, performed
with great delicacy and refinement under the Direction of Julia H.
Moon with Oleg Vinogradov (Artistic Director), who brought together
many fine artists from Korea, China, Europe and Russia.
The synopsis of the story tells us that, when the
princess is born, one of the fairies is not invited to the
christening. In outrage, she appears in the palace and threatens the
king and queen with revenge. The stage was now set for their daughter
to prick her finger on a spindle which was hidden in a bouquet of
roses that would cause her to appear as dead. The story of Sleeping
Beauty ties us into the story of The Artist, Prince with the awakening
of our people to the truth of the dominating will and control exerted
by others over the destiny of our lives. In conjunction with the
Seven-Day Celebration with Prince, we attended a special Tribute to
Paul Robeson and Chinas Mei Lanfang. Now emerges a common thread
being interwoven around a fictitious fairy tale that is taking on
greater meaning as we continue to express our Cultural Roots in the
Revival of the Golden Age of our ongoing Revolution. With this
awakening stream of consciousness, of the Black mans roots
spreading across the Continent of Asia from Japan to China, Mongolia,
Central Asia and Korea it is removing a curtain covering thousands of
years of the History of the Original Black Man and Nation and our
Presence all over the Planet Earth.
When I was a child my mother exposed me to the
arena of the performing arts. I enrolled into art classes at the
Detroit Art Museum and studied dance, theater and drama. I also recall
my performance in the theatrical production of Sleeping Beauty and
remembered pricking my finger on a spindle and falling in a deep like
trance to be finally awakened by the Prince or God of our People
through the Divine Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. In the
Dance Version of Sleeping Beauty, the Lilac Fairy is identified as the
fairy of kindness who had the power to weaken the spell cast by the
wicked fairy, and later guided the prince into the thick forest
overgrowth to find the entrance to the Enchanted Castle. The
conclusion of the story ends with the Great Awakening of the entire
kingdom whose members are called to the great marriage feast.
According to the Book of Revelations, Chapter 19,
there is a great rejoicing in heaven with shouts of Hallelujah for the
avenging of God against the wicked harlot. Then we are led to the
marriage of the Lamb. "Let us be glad and rejoice and give honor
to him; for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his wife have made
herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in
fine linen clean and white; for the fine linen is the righteousness of
saints. And he said unto me Write, Blessed are they who are called
unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, these are
the true sayings of God." Revelation 19 Verses 7-9
Our Black artists and entertainers are standing at
the crossroads of a period of renewed life or death, enlightenment or
darkness with their arms outstretched on the horizontal with their
bodies being pulled or stretched up and down on the vertical with
their heads upright forming a circle to the body which appears in this
configuration as the Egyptian Ankh, the symbol of the key of life.
In
ancient Egypt, the Ankh symbol is the most prevalent design which is
attached to the solar symbol used by the enigmatic 18th Dynastic
Ruler, Akhenaton, portrayed in the Aton Sun Disk. Even in the Name,
Akhenaton, we have the inclusion of the sound and letters for the Ankh
symbol, which is extended from 19 rays on the Aton Sun Disk.
In adulthood, we come to see how the allegories of
life begin to spin their meanings, welding us together to fulfill Gods
Purpose and Divine Plan. As we join together from many diverse paths
and from all walks of life with distinct, yet similar ethnic origins,
we arrive to the Time to recognize the One God that is uniting us all
by tribes and nations into one Global Humanity.
"Allah is the Friend of those who
believeHe brings them out of darkness into light. And those who
disbelieve, their friends are the devils who take them out of light
into darkness. They are the companions of the Fire; therein they
abide. Surah 2: Verses 257 |
