ALL SYMBOLS--NO SUBSTANCE
The most recent presidential "election"
turned out to be more exciting than most people expected. Most of the
excitement, however, resulted from the general ignorance of the nature
of the system used to elect presidents. All the hoopla about the
counting of ballots, and the supposed controversy over the authority
of the "Electoral College" was a sham to dramatize a ho-hum
election and make the American voters swallow the lie that they were
indeed making a choice. If the system were honest, then whichever
candidate got the largest number of votes from the people would win
the election. This, however, is not the case. The crooks who devised
this system made it so that, even if only a handful of eligible voters
in a state actually participated, whoever got the bulk of the
participants votes would be credited with the votes of all the
people who did not vote.
An even meaner game is being played on (not
"with") Black voters. The actual extent of our impact upon
the choice of Presidents is demonstrated by the fact that Gore
received 90% of the Black vote. We have a history of one-sided love
affairs with Caucasian politicians. For many years, almost all Black
people considered themselves "Republicans", because, they
said, Abe Lincoln freed the slaves and he was a Republican. Most of
them did not know, and still do not know, that, despite the name,
todays Republican party is not the party of Lincoln. But even if it
were, that would not justify the great love that we, the descendants
of slaves, have demonstrated for "Honest Abe". He was quoted
by noted historians as stating, more than once, "If I could unite
this Nation without freeing even one slave, I would!"
Despite this candid declaration, the Republican
party continued to be heralded throughout "Soulville" as
"The Party of Lincoln", and we hung on gratefully.
That is, until the "Great Depression"
came about on the Republicans watch not that they alone caused
it, but they were in charge when it occurred and, therefore, had to
bear the blame. The Democrats unseated them with ease at the next
election, and Franklin D. Roosevelt came in with emergency programs
such as "Relief" and "Welfare". He broke all
records for occupancy of the White House, and, in fact, never got
voted out he had a position for life! Blacks treated his
presidency as if it were the "Second Coming of Christ". It
is primarily because of FDR that, regardless of their actions, or lack
thereof, the Democrats, to this day, have the hearts of most Negroesnot
Black People, most Negroes.
A case in point is the actions of a group in
California called "The American Muslim Alliance", who are
screaming to the world that their feelings are hurt because they
contributed a fat donation of $50,000 to the now-successful candidacy
of Hillary Clinton for a seat in the United States Senate, only to
have her return it to them.
"I strongly disagree with the positions taken
by this group," the First Lady stated .
I am positive the Alliance can find some good
causes for which to use that money right there in the Bay Area,
assuming, of course, that contribution to a worthy cause was their
motive.
