Mosque Maryam was packed for Min. Farrakhan’s July 21, 2019 address.

MACON, Ga.—Around the country and abroad, the words, divine guidance and illuminating message by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan was heard loud and clear and impacted those who tuned in via internet webcast at various Nation of Islam mosques and study groups or viewed from the comfort of their homes.

Visitors, family, friends and youth in Macon, Georgia, enjoyed Min. Farrakhan’s July 21 message that was broadcast live from Chicago.

Whitney Wilson attended the Sunday lecture in Macon after being invited by her mechanic, a registered Muslim in the Nation of Islam. In the past, she has watched Brother Ben X out of Waxahachie, Texas, and Student Minister Nuri Muhammad, of Muhammad Mosque No. 74 in Indianapolis on YouTube.

“Black people, we have to realize how special we are and how we are a chosen people,” she said.

The Minister’s message was particularly resonating for several youth who viewed the program in Macon. Yasmeen Muhammad, a student at Muhammad University of Islam (MUI) said she thought Min. Farrakhan speaking on the greatness of Black people and Black people being the owners of the earth was great.

“Elijah Muhammad is Jesus, and he’s talking through (the Minister),” she said. “He doesn’t care about what anybody says about him, and he knows what Elijah Muhammad told him what was going to happen in the end.”

Her eight-year-old sister Samirah Muhammad, also a student at MUI, said the lecture was beautiful.“He was talking about Black people helping our community and stuff, and I just love the Minister. He makes me smile,” she said.

Sean X, a recently registered member of the Nation of Islam, said Min. Farrakhan is a reminder of how true the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad are.

“I just wish our people wouldn’t believe anything the media says about the Honorable Louis Farrakhan or about the teachings,” he said.

Memphis residents hear the message.

Approximately 84 miles away at Nation of Islam Southern Regional Headquarters in Atlanta, a crowd viewed the message from Muhammad Mosque No. 15.

It was Veronica Turner’s first time visiting the mosque. “I learned something from the lecture today—I learned a lot. It was my first-time hearing about how the climate is being controlled. I learned about the glacier—when the top breaks off, the bottom rises. It was my first time hearing these things. He said some things that touched me. Hearing the Minister speak was a learning experience,” said Ms. Turner.

Al Mualim is a Muslim from the Tasawwuf community—a Tijani Sufi. Mr. Mualim called Min. Farrakhan’s message “very inspiring.” “The Minister shared a lot of really good information with us to guide us and assist us in our development. It was very inspiring. The words the Minister shares with us are always very inspiring. I really liked how he talked about us establishing our own territory. I like to attend the mosque here. Most of the time I make it to Muhammad Mosque 15 every Sunday, if not, every other Sunday. It’s a great group of people. I enjoy being here.  It’s an awesome place to be. I really enjoy the fellowship.”

Friends and supporters of Min. Farrakhan also gathered at Muhammad Mosque No. 28 and No. 28B in St. Louis, and East St. Louis, Mo. Throughout the lecture the audience kept jumping to their feet applauding and bearing witness to points made by Min. Farrakhan.

One young man could not hold back his enthusiasm when asked to share his thoughts about the Minister’s message. Twenty-one-year-old Michael Patterson Jr. was visiting from college in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

“I feel fired up and the wisdom that he portrayed in his message really resonated inside my spirit. I feel like going out there and saving the world now. It already has been in my spirit but the courage that he speaks and how bold he speaks, it just resonates well in my spirit and I feel very great today to take over the world,” he said.

Larkin Alexander said he was inspired by Min. Farrakhan’s words but concerned about the threat of war and what could happen if America went to war with Iran. “I get energy off of him, I really get a lot of energy thoughts and knowledge from the Minister,” said Mr. Alexander.

“When I’m listening to him, I learn a lot, like he said war may be coming and different things may be coming up like the weather conditions worsening. We need to become more spiritual as far as heart and mental things so we will be able to know what is going on in this world today,” he said.

On the West Coast an overflow room held part of the viewing audience at the Nation of Islam’s Western Region Headquarters at Muhammad Mosque No. 27 in Los Angeles. Dorrette Young, a writer who posts her articles on an online news site, was excited to hear about Minister Farrakhan’s address during her visit to Mosque 27 to learn more about Muhammad University of Islam.

“I love Minister Farrakhan!  I love him, because his mom is West Indian and I am West Indian,” said Ms. Young.  It was her first time seeing him teach a full lecture, she said.  “I was really into it.  It was fascinating and he did speak some truth, especially on Iran!  Especially on Iran!  Trump messed up Iran completely, and I totally agree with Minister Farrakhan on that,” she stated.

Shundrea Hardy, an Alabama native, was so moved that she accepted the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad after Min. Farrakhan concluded his message.

“I feel that I’m in agreement with everything he said; with absolutely everything he said!  It wasn’t totally surprising, but just refreshing to learn about the Muslim religion and where they are and what you guys are doing.  It was very enlightening,” Ms. Hardy stated.  His words about Mr. Trump and the Muslims’ demand for eight states for Black independence resonated heavily, she said.

Even the grueling hot weather of Las Vegas, Nevada, couldn’t stop the youth and the elderly from coming out to hear the message of Min. Farrakhan.  Youth filled Muhammad Mosque No. 75 in Clark County, Nevada with anticipation of the message.

With temperatures outside at a sweltering 108 degrees and indoors just as hot due to mechanical problems of the air conditioner the many guests stayed and endured to the end of the timely message delivered by the Minister.

Student Minister Duke Muhammad of Mosque No. 75 said, “The Minister did such a wonderful job speaking for 3-1/2 hours. He touched the heart, the mind and the spirit of the people and even though the guests were under a physical discomfort for lack of air conditioning, they stayed to the end,” he said.

“The beauty of when the Minister said that President Trump is destroying the institutions because he has a mentality that he wants to be a King—not only is he destroying the institutions, but he is going against the Founding Fathers of America who put things in place to check might and power,” said Student Min. Duke Muhammad.

Clara Thomas, 60, said what she received from the Minister was “a wake-up call and a warning to the country.”  “I also got from it that the four congresswomen that are standing up to President Trump is empowering other women to take a stand too.” Ms. Thomas was referring to the “The Squad,” four freshman democratic members of Congress—Reps. Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—who have endured racist and xenophobic attacks from Mr. Trump.

Along the 95 North corridor in the Mid-Atlantic Region Black people were moved with various reactions to the Minister’s message.  At Muhammad Mosque No. 25 in Newark, New Jersey, Thomas Muhammad, a 19-year-old sophomore at the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, New Jersey, told The Final Call, “What impacted me the most was when the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan stated: ‘The Nation is going to survive; I don’t care what happens, the Nation of Islam is going to survive because God has taken the point.’”

Moving down 95 South to Wilmington, De., Lorraine Thomas a retired senior citizen, watched the webcast with the Wilmington Study Group.  She told The Final Call, “Today’s lecture was phenomenal by our beloved Minister Farrakhan. First of all he looked great and it was a blessing to see him today with the message ‘watch the weather,’ the coast is going to flood,” she said.

“When he talked about how they tried to kill him in the hospital, I literally had tears in my eyes and how they would make it look like a natural death, Allah is protecting him. I bear witness there is no God but Allah! Mr. President, the time we cannot escape the wrath of the Mahdi. Today’s teachings were like a father, a parent talking to his children, whom he loves.”

As the temperature roiled to a record-setting 100 degrees on the outside, those that braved the weather were given a refreshing treat at Muhammad Mosque No. 12 in Philadelphia where the national telecast played live.

Robert Davenport told The Final Call that no matter the weather, it is always a pleasure to hear the Minister. The high point of the lecture for him was the Minister’s instructions to “be yourself.”  “The Minister said wisdom should be used to make us rise up,” said Mr. Davenport.

“The information Minister Farrakhan had to give regarding Master Fard Muhammad as the Mahdi really was the thing for me,” said Walt Goodman. “His role is to lead us to the straight path of God. That’s dynamic! The whole lecture was dynamic. It was on point and on time, and it was great hearing from the Minister and everything he says just strikes a nerve.”

Jerome Allen agreed. He told The Final Call everything about his message was uplifting and moving. “This was my first time hearing Minister Farrakhan. This is all new to me. Everything that he said really wants to make me keep coming and learning. When he started talking about global warming and the weather, it really hit me because we are in it.”

Varaya Woodard, 18, stated her knowledgebase was increased as a result of the Minister’s lecture today. “He made me more aware of the weather and how God is using it for our benefit. I feel like Minister Farrakhan is a perfect leader for us. I am impressed with the Nation of Islam and the way it teaches its followers. It helps to create more people just like Farrakhan. What really impressed me during his lecture was when he talked about us getting eight or ten states; for me, that was a good idea in terms of real justice,” said Ms. Woodward.

In Washington, D.C., where temperatures also reached 100 degrees with a heat index making it feel like 108 degrees, many people watched the Minister from their air-conditioned homes.

Brian Williamson is a contractor. He watched from home as with his family.  The Minister “always makes you think,” he explained. He told The Final Call, “I love the Minister and watched him for years.  I was really moved by how he described leadership and people who really want to be dictators.  They rise up and want to do what someone else is doing by exceeding the limit and moving into someone else’s lane.”

Alberta Thompson is a retired beautician.  She watched the webcast with her grandchildren.  “I wanted to introduce them to Minister Farrakhan and they had only heard about him when he was banned on Facebook,” she said.

“They were excited to hear him live in person.  They asked me what was the problem, why was he banned?  What did he say that was so controversial?  They don’t understand why he was banned from Facebook and now Twitter,” continued Ms. Thompson.

“I tried to explain to them, but the ban just made them want to know more about him.  It’s a crazy world but I wanted my grandchildren to see him for themselves and make their own decision about Minister Farrakhan.  I knew they see him as most Black people do, as someone with a great message for his people.  Now they want to research the Million Man March and more historical facts about the Minister and all the great work that he has done.”

Back in Chicago, 16-year-old Chandler McMahan was moved by Min. Farrakhan’s discussion on manhood. It was the young man’s first time hearing the Minister speak.

“When he was talking about stages of being a man, it resonated with me. I’m only 16 and I’m trying to transition into being a man when I turn 18 so it’s like a lot of stuff that he said, I took it in and I’m trying to use it to go further in the future.”
