Chicago case heightens national awareness of missing and exploited children

CHICAGO�The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a record number of cases last year involving Black children, and they say that dubious record may be broken this year. Two missing Black sisters in Chicago are among the latest to be entered in the NCMEC�s missing children database, and posters bearing their images and information about them have been distributed through its worldwide network.

Activists: African Union and reparations are uniting forces
CHICAGO�The establishment of a United States of Africa and the issue of reparations are two issues Blacks in Africa and the Diaspora can unite around. That declaration was issued July 23 by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and activists during a forum on both topics held at Northeastern University�s Center for Inner City Studies on the city�s south side. more



White farmer's alleged murder of Black war vet increases tension in Zimbabwe's land crisis
HARARE (IPS)�The Zimbabwe police appealed for calm July 16 after war veterans, enraged by the weekend killing of a fellow Black settler, ordered all white commercial farmers to leave their farms, immediately. Mr. Bvudzijena�s appeal came after Andy Mhlanga, secretary general of the war veterans association warned that they would take the law into their hands, if the farmers refused to leave voluntarily.
