Minister Farrakhan comments
on Democratic Party's Selection of Senator Joseph I. Lieberman (D.-Conn.)
LOS ANGELESIs white America
ready to have a Jewish vice-president, who is a heart beat away from being
the President of the United States of America, was the question raised
today by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan during an hour-long,
morning press conference held at the Radisson Hotel on Aug. 11. "If
America answers that question well, then America has indeed matured,"
he said.

Blacks
outraged at deaths
from new weapons
NEW YORKWhen
demonstrators take to the streets of Los Angeles for the Democratic
National Convention, Aug. 14-17, they can expect pepper spray and rubber
bullets, if they get out of control. Police Chief Bernard Parks shared
his crowd control plans with the media after courts ruled the city could
not limit protests. The chiefs remarks after the July 24 legal
decision are another example of how law enforcement is moving toward the
use of so-called non-lethal weapons to control crime.
GOP adds Black symbols,
substance questions linger
PHILADELPHIAWhile the numbers of Black
delegates at the 2000 Republican National Convention may not be
substantial compared to their representation in the general
population92 Black delegates and alternates, amounting to 4.1 percent
of the total, which is larger than the 57, or 2.7 percent who attended in
1996the participation of prominent Blacks from both inside and outside
the GOP did increase dramatically at this convention.

Million Family March tours hits Miami
MIAMIIntroduced by Million
Family March (MFM) National Director Benjamin F. Muhammad, South Florida
residents leaped to their feet when the Nation of Islam leader emerged
onto the stage. After greeting stage dignitaries, Min. Farrakhan got right
down to business. Its wonderful to be back in Miami again, the
Minister beamed. I thank all of you for your prayers that you sent up
on my behalf, that I might recover from a near death experience, to come
back and soldier a little harder, work a little longer for the liberation
of our people and for all those who are oppressed on our planet, he
said.

No
Discipline, No Love
by Minister Louis
Farrakhan
There was a time when
discipline was administered in the church, but, today in most churches
there is no discipline. People come to listen to the preaching;
listen to good singing, giving their tithes and offerings and then
they go back to the life- style that they are living. Very few
pastors, ministers and imams will rebuke their parishioners to make
them better Christians, better Muslims, or better Jews.
