The purpose of the previous two articles was to begin the process of laying the basis of the justification of the case of the Honorable Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam against the New York Post and others.

Let us now return to the complaint we filed on March 15, 1994, for a moment, and let us focus our attention on paragraph 16, which in the first article I indicated I’d return to.

Paragraph 16, in brief, and for the legitimate purposes of this suit, identifies and describes the Honorable Louis Farrakhan, sums up his forty-plus years of service to humanity and shows that he has earned his good name.

It reads:

"Plaintiff, Minister Farrakhan, is the National Representative of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam; the Principal and Chief Executive Officer of the Muhammad Mosque, including all of its affiliate mosques and all of its subordinate entities; and the Leader of all members of the Lost Found Nation of Islam in the West, both registered and unregistered. As such, he a is recognized head of state in the world community of leaders.

"For over forty years, he has served humanity, not only as a spiritual leader, teacher, and guide, but has done the Work of Reformation, restoration, renewal, revival, reestablishment and redemption of approximately forty million descendants of slaves in the United Sates of America.

"He has earned his good name as a defender of Freedom, Justice, and Equality and is respected as a sterling example of family values as a devoted husband, father and counsellor."

Obviously, the Honorable Louis Farrakhan is a public figure. He is known internationally. Moreover, he is regarded, even by many heads of state, as a head of state.

Now the way in which public figures are treated, on a daily basis in America---especially in her media (generally) and in the press (in particular)---is atrocious, disgusting, mean-spirited, and in particular, malicious to the core.

It’s often stated and written that public figures find it difficult to get justice in America’s courts when they have been slandered and/or libeled. And, it has been stated that we will have great difficulty in obtaining justice in this matter (under discussion) for that same reason and because of the wicked reputation attributed to Minister Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam by our enemies.

I hope to show, in upcoming articles, what is the foundation of my confidence that we will win this case, whether in America’s courts or in the higher court of the Lord of the Worlds. We will show that the integrity of the Divine Supreme Being is involved in this case---even though this may seem to be a gross overstatement of this situation.

This case, the matter of the billion dollars plus that Minister Farrakhan is seeking for the benefit of his people and others, are among several instances, situations, or cases in which America’s white leadership is being offered an opportunity to demonstrate that they are better than their fathers and mothers who ruined the lives of our mothers and fathers.

In two documents, filed in behalf of the Honorable Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, Ministers Arif Muhammad and Ava Muhammad took up an extremely important matter. It is part of that upon which this entire case turns. It involves the state of mind of those when they libeled us and against whom this case has been filed. It involves the question of whether or not Mister Jack Newfield wrote what he did against Minister Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam out of malice.

Our attorneys, in representing the Minister and the Nation, contend that Mr. Jack Newfield’s articles were characterized by extreme maliciousness---which are among the other wicked characteristics which define what he wrote against us.

Furthermore, it is documented that Mr. Jack Newfield’s reporting on the Nation of Islam, over a period of many years, has been malicious, false, and that he knew better than he wrote. So did all of the others who are listed in this suit.

Before we get into the question of the malicious nature of the libelous attacks, which we are fighting, we will consider more deeply Minister Farrakhan’s identity, as summarized above; something of the context of the times in which this case is taking place; and something of the nature and extent of the power of our opponents in this case.

As we delve into this, let’s each of us who are in the Nation of Islam remember that each one of us is a party to this suit or case. We are a group of whom it was written that we would undergo a particularly gross and fiery persecution. When we consider the nature and depth of the enslavement that we as a people are coming up out of; when we consider the identity of Master Fard Muhammad and the super-extraordinary enlightenment of the teachings He generated through the Honorable Elijah Muhammad---of whom the Honorable Louis Farrakhan the ambassador---and when we consider the identity of the powers of this world, who are ultimately behind these efforts to destroy Minister Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, only then can the extreme wickedness of this particular libel be best understood.

And then can the following be appreciated, or grasped, as it ought to be. Reliable sources have advised our attorneys that the opposition has spent at least ten million dollars in their efforts to prevent this case from coming to trial before the whole world. WHY?

Furthermore, such study will help us to understand the roots of why slander and libel has been in the Nation of Islam almost from the beginning of its inception upon the meeting of Master Fard Muhammad and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad in September, 1931 (to give one date).

One impact a study of this case ought to have on each one of us is why we must totally refrain from slander and libel---of anyone---whether they be friend or foe.

Slander was key in the beginning of the rise of this wicked world. Slander will prove to be a major key in its undoing and doom.
