CHICAGO (FinalCall.com) - The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has often said education is not a privilege, as it is sometimes treated in America, but “education is a human right.” His words and actions were consistent with that statement in comments delivered at Kennedy-King College on the city’s South Side.

“All of you represent the future of our people. Our ancestors have suffered much, and paid a great price, your parents and your grandparents have sacrificed much as well, that you could sit where you sit today, so the scriptures say ‘to whom much is given, much is required,’ and your role as a college student is a different one than in times past,” Minister Farrakhan told students November 8.

Jeremy Schnurlein, 25, stands to ask a question.

Decades ago college students could concentrate on school with the hope and expectation that a decent job would be available upon graduation, paying enough to make a decent living and raise a family, he observed. Many of those who graduated last year are now unemployed or underemployed, manufacturing jobs are being shipped overseas and America is falling further into debt. A new reality exists, the Minister said.

“Where is our future?” he asked. “We have to think differently now.”

Kennedy-King is a predominantly Black two-year community college and one of seven institutions that make up the City Colleges of Chicago. It is named in honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy.

As a true educator interested in preparing his pupils for the future, as opposed to training and continuing White supremacist indoctrination, Prof. Frederick Douglass-Dixon exposes students to different viewpoints by scheduling guest lecturers. He did not tell students exactly who the guest lecturer would be on Thursday, Nov. 8, but he did tell them it was an important class they did not want to miss.

Imagine their surprise when a glowing and smiling Minister Louis Farrakhan walked into their Sociology 209 class in room Y111.

The students stood and cheered when the Minister entered.

He described the importance of young Black college students in the journey towards freedom, which for many is symbolized by President Barack Obama’s ascension to the highest political office in the land.

“Our brother has won a second term, and some of you helped to get him that victory, but have you noticed the reaction of the other side to this victory?” asked the Minister. “Can you imagine how they feel after they fought so hard to get Barack out of the White House and put their man in the office, that they have to wake up to a new reality in America? This is not the America of the Founding Fathers.”

Blacks, women, Latinos, Asians and Native Americans were not included in the original thoughts of the Founding Fathers, however, all of those groups heavily supported Mr. Obama in the election. Additionally, there is a demographic shift because the birth rate of the darker people is going up, while the birth rate of Whites is going down.

“A long time has passed and this is not the same America, but (the White) attitude is the same as those White Founding Fathers,” said Minister Farrakhan.

Whites are feeling threatened, wondering what the future brings once they are no longer in the majority, and it is represented in their words and actions, he continued. Whites are buying guns and ammunition and are afraid of retaliation from those they have wronged throughout history, the Minister warned.

“Will they come after us like we came after them? Will they remember the evil that we’ve poured on them when they are in positions of power? Will they do to us what we delighted in doing to them?’ All of these thoughts are going around in their minds, so the question becomes, ‘how can we maintain White supremacy in the face of the rise of the people of color?’ ”

The “scientists of evil” have determined that millions have to be culled from the planet. Planned Parenthood’s emergence and experimentation has led to dreadfully high numbers of abortions in the Black community, unhealthy foods are readily available, healthy alternatives are hard to come by and “paid mercenaries that have been trained in the art and science of killing” are teaching police officers nationwide.

“They’re killing us, and we are participating in our own destruction,” said Minister Farrakhan. “You’re dealing with scientists of evil who see your rise and want to kill you before you can fulfill your destiny.”

Students listened carefully to Minister Farrakhan’s guidance.

The Minister has been moving at an amazing pace, a pace difficult for some half his age to keep up with. On Friday, Nov. 2, he spoke at Tennessee State University in Nashville, on Monday, Nov. 5, he addressed the Fruit of Islam men’s class from Chicago which was broadcast to the Nation of Islam’s male members across the world, then on Wednesday evening Nov. 7 he spoke to members of the Nation of Islam from the opulent sanctuary of Mosque Maryam, delivering guidance during this perilous time of intense White anger following President Obama’s election to a second term in office.

At Bowie State University, Raymond Shorter who serves as a lead counselor and mentor for many students told The Final Call how he used Minister Farrakhan’s messages to guide and assist students forming opinions on life, the world and current events. In a similar manner, Prof. Douglass-Dixon has incorporated the books Message to the Blackman and The Fall of America, both written by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, as part of his curriculum and required reading for students in his class. Prof. Douglass-Dixon said articles from The Final Call are studied regularly.

In other college speaking engagements, the Minister often has to break down the hostility of students because of lies told about him in advance by the media, and leaders of Jewish organizations. Although the students at Kennedy-King College may have heard negative things about the Minister, it did not come from Prof. Douglass-Dixon. He presented the Minister with an appreciation award and talked about the Minister’s direct impact on his life’s direction.

Prof. Douglass-Dixon said to the students, “I told you this would be a blessed day, and I told you this would be an historical day. We have been up until this point, only scratching the surface of what it is that we need to study, and today to bring clarity and depth, I (invited) someone who is a lot wiser than I, who knows a whole lot more than I do and is very much in tune to what you need.”

The students told The Final Call they appreciated Prof. Douglass-Dixon bringing such an eye-opening speaker in as a guest lecturer, and they were impacted greatly.

“This was an amazing experience for me. I really enjoyed everything I heard from Minister Farrakhan. He was very clear, I understood everything that he said, and we’ve just got to get busy,” said Tina Stewart, a student in the class.

Jeremy Schnurlein said when he saw Minister Farrakhan walk into the classroom, “It blew my mind.”

“It was an honor to actually meet him, listen to him, hearing the words of encouragement that he presented to us, it was an honor to shake his hand. I’ve been waiting for a moment like this,” Mr. Schnurlein added.

Brian Smith, a young student, was in the audience for the #AskFarrakhan Social Media Townhall Q and A session Sept. 26. He recorded a portion of the message and plans to post it on Twitter and Facebook.

“I’m going to place it on social media everywhere,” said Mr. Smith.

As an added bonus, Minister Farrakhan gave each student copies of the book, The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews, Volume 2, and DVDs of his last six messages.
